ACORN + SIDE RAIL COLLECTIVES Pressents:
Open Arts Night
Side Rail is joining forces with Acorn Collective to offer a unique open arts night to the public once a month!
The event will be hosted at Side Rail Collective (in Georgetown) every 2nd Thursday of the month!
This Month:
Join us for Open Arts Night Thursday 3/13 7:30-10:30. Open Arts night is a unique opportunity to make art while listening (or participating) in an open mic. This month come make Resistance Collage! Find a word or phrase that gives you strength in this tumultuous time and turn it into a work of art. The collage exercise will be lead by Seattle based artist and musician, Sean Williams. Sean works in public education and embraces multiple forms of creativity including music, drawing and poetry.
Our visiting musician this month is Hayward Sun. Hayward Sun is a musical project created by Brian Terreson, a Seattle-based singer-songwriter. Drawing lyrical inspiration from life experiences of gaining wisdom, knowledge, love and loss, Terreson crafts songs that reflect the shared human journey. Musical influences include Brandi Carlile, Paul Simon, Ray LaMontagne and others.
FAQ:

We'll have a guided art activity combined with an open mic! The art activity will be different each month, but expect things like watercolor, pottery, sketching, etc. While people are working on their artwork, people can also share music, poetry, or any other creative work! If you would prefer to bring your own art project to work on please feel free.
